If you work on small-displacement European diesel engines, the Bosch 0445110183 is a part number you will see over and over. This Bosch common rail injector is fitted on Fiat 1.3 Multijet, Opel 1.3 CDTI and Lancia platforms, and it is one of the most common CR injectors we see on a test bench. 1. What is the Bosch 0445110183?

The 0445110183 is a solenoid-type common rail injector from Bosch's 0445 11 family. It belongs to the electromagnetic CR generation (CRI2) rather than the later piezo (CRIN) family. It is widely used on the Fiat 1.3 Multijet 16V diesel engine, which was fitted across Fiat, Opel, Lancia, and Suzuki small cars from the mid-2000s onward. Within the Bosch 0445 11 series you will also see close siblings such as 0445110441 and 0445110698 - they share the same solenoid coil, nozzle nut, and overall dimensions, which is why a single set of test parameters usually covers the whole family.

3. Common Failures & Repair Cases

The single most frequent service complaint we receive for the 0445110183 is: "I tested four injectors and the machine gives different values on each one - how do I know they are good?" 3.1 Air in the high-pressure circuit

Even a tiny bubble trapped between the injector and the rail connector changes the effective injection volume. Always run at least three test cycles after installing a new injector and discard the first result. If values still drift, vent the high-pressure line at the rail pressure sensor port.

3.2 Leaking return line or loose connector

Check the return oil backflow connector on the injector body. If it is not seated firmly, ambient air is sucked into the return path and contaminates the backflow volume measurement. Tighten to torque spec and re-test.

3.3 Flow sensor calibration drift

This is the most overlooked root cause. After 2-3 years of service, the flow sensor's gain drifts and the displayed value shifts 5-8 % away from reality. The corrective action is to install a known-good new 0445110183, run five test cycles, and re-adjust the sensor parameters to 34000 / 37000 / 38000 so the new injector reads within the OEM tolerance window.

Q1: Can I test the 0445110183 on the EPS205?
Yes. The EPS205 and EPS206 cover all CRI2 solenoid injectors in the Bosch 0445 11 family including 0445110183. You only need piezo capability (and a different data card) if you are testing 0445116018 or other CRIN piezo injectors.

Q2: The customer wants a test video for the exact 0445110183 unit on their bench - can you send one?
